Equipment Provision Program |
The Equipment Provision Program (EPP) is a province-wide program. It's run by the BC Division & Okanagan Chapter of the MS Society of Canada. The program helps those who are living with MS and in financial need to acquire equipment required to maximize their quality of life.
Equipment Provisions include:
· Mobility Aids: (eg. manual wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, canes, walkers, scooters)
· Personal Care: (eg. patient lifts, bathroom safety items)
EPP can assist by providing equipment or financial assistance to acquire a new piece of equipment or pay for repairs on current equipment (based on financial need). For more details go to http://www.mssociety.ca/bc/epp.htm. To speak with someone directly about your changing needs, please contact the Chapter office.

Volunteer Legal Advocacy Program |
VLAP was launched by the MS Society of Canada, BC Division because people with MS often need legal/advocacy support to meet their needs. This program utilizes volunteers who have legal expertise and/or advocacy experience to support clients. To learn more about this program and to access information booklets and guides visit the BC&Y Division VLAP website. Concerns regarding CPP Disability applications, family law issues and wills are just a few of the issues that can be addressed through the VLAP program.
If you are interested in using VLAP program services please contact the MS Society at 800-268-7582
and ask to speak to Chapter Coordinator. The Coordinator will complete an intake form and then the VLAP Coordinator at the BC Division office will review the form and contact you.
To date, VLAP has assisted more than 800 British Columbians living with multiple sclerosis through lawyer referral and advocacy. We are grateful to The Law Foundation and the Notary Foundation who made our vision possible - as well as the many lawyers, advocates who volunteer their time to make this program possible - you really are making a difference in the lives of persons living with multiple sclerosis.
