The South Okanagan/Similkameen Chapter is now accepting applications from community members to sit on its BOARD of DIRECTORS. Elected terms are for two years. The South Okanagan/Similkameen Chapter also has ongoing volunteer positions available.
Volunteer positions include fundraising activity support and special assignment/project support.

Scotiabank MS WALK Volunteer Positions Descriptions:
Check In Coordinator: Coordinates participant registration area ensuring that correct registration procedures are carefully followed.
Prize Coordinator: Coordinates participant prize area ensuring that correct prize distribution procedures are followed.
TeamMS Coordinator: Targets and recruits companies, groups and organizations to participate in the TeamMS program. (Photography)
Food Coordinator: Ensures proper food and beverage service to participants and volunteers. Obtains donated food for breakfast and snacks.
Volunteer Coordinator: Ensures that day-of-event volunteers are signed in, have completed an information form, and are properly directed to assigned area. Troubleshoots no-shows and helps re-assign tasks as needed. Distributes volunteer recognition gifts.
Site Coordinator: Plans and oversees all aspects of site layout and setup/installation/access of tents, signage, banners, washrooms/port-a-potties, electrical supply, parking, and other necessary site equipment.
Route Coordinator: Ensures proper signage and route marshal coverage for the routes.
Rest Stop Coordinator: Ensures that proper signage, equipment, supplies and volunteer support are at each rest stop.
Entertainment Coordinator: Arranges entertainment at the site, and along the route if possible.
Start/Finish Line Coordinator: Ensures that volunteers are in place to cheer and
encourage participants at Start/Finish Line.
All Committee Volunteers also help with the following
. Event promotion and recruitment of individual participants and teams. . Recruitment of community sponsors and site donors.
. Planning of overall event logistics and weekend of event operations. . Recruitment, training and supervision or your area's volunteers.
Time Commitment
. Four to Five meetings before the event (1-2 hours each). . Completing action items between committee meetings.
. Weekend of Event (approx 4-6 hours to help set up on day before event and 4-8 hours on day of event).
. One post-event wrap-up/evaluation meeting.
