GETTING INVOLVED!
Contact the Lower Mainland Chapter to find out about volunteer opportunities
(eg. speakers, fundraising).
The MS Society is a volunteer driven organization. We could not accomplish our mission without the support and dedication of our volunteers. The LMC recognizes that volunteers are an invaluable resource so we have developed this page to profile volunteers who have made a huge difference in the lives of people affected by MS.
Nominated Volunteer - Alison Watt

Written by Alison
I started volunteering at the MS Society almost a year ago. I had retired a few months earlier and I was looking for volunteer opportunities in the community and I was really impressed by the range of volunteer positions available with the MS Society. Currently I volunteer at the Burnaby office one day a week helping out in any way that I can.
My awareness of MS has developed over the years as a couple of friends have been diagnosed with the disease. And in the last year I have learned a great deal more about how MS affects people in so many ways. It's a privilege to be able to work in an environment where every day staff and volunteers are making a difference in people's lives - listening to their circumstances, helping in very practical ways, providing support, assisting with legal matters and advocacy, education, and raising funds to support the research and services provided by the MS Society.
The staff and volunteers are very engaged and committed to the mission of the MS Society which is to find a cure for multiple sclerosis and enable people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life. Everyone is very appreciative of the volunteers and their contributions and I feel so very welcome. I believe that there is a volunteer opportunity to suit every person!
